We’re excited to invite you to our first JUPI Congress, a Puerto Rican people’s conference where we will discuss the most pressing issues Puerto Rican youth face both in the diaspora and in the archipelago.

What to Expect?
Congress will include interactive workshops, keynote speakers, panel discussions, and in depth discourse on the direction of our work as a youth and student organization within the larger movement toward a free and socialist Puerto Rico.
As a result of Congress, we aim to unite on a shared vision and action steps for how we as youth and students contribute to the movement as a whole.
Schedule
Sat, July 25th: Speakers, Panel, Workshops, Cultural Night (9-8pm)
Join us as we review our major accomplishments, as well as our shortcomings,of the first 2 years of our organization and reflect on the biggest lessons learned! Day one will also include workshops and a panel to strengthening our organizing skills, building the mass movement, and understanding the material conditions. We will close with a cultural night of dancing and performances.
Sun, July 26th: Mass Action, National Leadership Elections (9-5pm)
On the second day, we will engage in a mass action somewhere in NYC (information forthcoming). Afterwards, return with us to Hunter and learn how we practice democracy within JUPI as we review and vote on constitutional amendments suggested by our membership as well as host national leadership elections for the upcoming two year term. Afterwards, we will break out into small groups to further develop work plans informed by what we discussed in Congress itself.
